The Pier Health Resource Centre is a partner of different levels of government and regulatory bodies.
We share our business plans, operations and accounting practices directly with the Ministry of health in order for them to learn how pharmacies can work and how policy can be altered to raise standards without limiting access or patient health outcomes.
Pier also works with the City of Vancouver to discuss how clinical pharmacy supports and integrates into the Downtown Eastside Neighbourhood plan.
We support the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority and contribute to their ongoing efforts to implement the DTES Second Generation Strategy.
Finally, we work with the British Columbia College of Pharmacists to continually improve the rules and regulations surrounding the profession of pharmacy and the way in which private businesses service at-risk communities.
Through our transparency, research and participation, The Pier Health Resource Centre’s aims to facilitate a closer working relationship with the residents of the Downtown Eastside and the governmental bodies, who support them.
